Do you have someone in your life that has badly cracked heels? Could they use a little help taking care of them? Do you need pedicure gift ideas?
How I helped Irene
There used to be this woman who worked in my office named Irene and she had the worst feet ever. They were dry, cracked and were awful to look at. They were so bad that they just looked painful. I can’t even imagine how bad it felt.
I was talking to another co-worker about it to try to decide how to help Irene without embarrassing her. It was kind of sneaky but we came up with a plan to give her a subtle hint.
At the end of the year office party, we decided to exchange secret friend gifts. You were to pull a name from a hat and by the last day of the year you had to leave a gift in the office of the person whose name you drew. It was arranged that I got Irene’s name. I was going to give Iren a small gift to help nudge her into the direction of taking care of her feet a little better.
So how did the gift work out with Irene? I was actually surprised. I purchased a gift certificate to a spa for a paraffin pedicure and I attached it to a foot care gift set. In the note, I wrote: “To one of the hardest working people I know. Take a little me time for your self during this holiday season. Enjoy!”
When Irene came back to work after a 2 week holiday she was wearing a new pair of dressy sandals. I took a quick glance at her feet and noticed how much better they looked! On the office lunchroom board, there was a note from Irene saying ” Thank you to whoever bought me the gift pack! I never knew how amazing a pedicure could feel and now I’m addicted”
Ever since then Irene has had much better-looking feet and it’s not painful to look at!
It’s not the most direct way to help someone solve a problem but sometimes if you don’t know the person that well, you have to tread gently.
Cracked heels or heel fissures can be an embarrassing and painful problem for a lot of people. If the cracked heels aren’t treated they can become a serious health issue. Some times people just don’t know where to begin when it comes to foot care. You might have to make a few suggestions.
One option would be to buy a gift certificate for that person. But what if that person can’t get out and about easily because of mobility issues? Or possibly they may not like other people to touch their feet. You will need another solution.
How to pick the right gift
See if you can figure out the extent of their foot care issues. Ask if there are any recommendations that a foot care professional has made for them. It would help if you know the contraindications to the person medications or diseases they may have.
